Troubaganger @ La Bodega

Wah! This has never happened in the history of the band. We’re actually playing two shows in a day. Things are picking up pretty nicely.

I talked about the World Press Freedom Day gig that we’ll be playing on Sunday afternoon in the previous post. You can probably expect the usual cranked up guitars and Chak’s signature moves among others there.

After that, we’re heading over to La Bodega KL for an acoustic nite performance. Check out details here. Pete Teo will also be making an appearance, just in case we’re not a big enough reason for you to be there.

World Press Freedom Day

We’ll be playing a gig this coming Sunday, in conjunction with the World Press Freedom Day celebration. Check out the e-flyer for details.

Brain dead at the moment, so I’ve got nothing else to add.

We got in pretty last minute but hey…we haven’t gigged since last December anyway!

“Bridging the Gap” gig @ Jam Asia

Last Saturday, the band (minus Dinesh who was working…sigh!) went over to Jam Asia in Sri Hartamas for the “Bridging the Gap” gig. This restaurant-pub outfit has gigs lined up almost every week, showcasing the diversity of acts that our music scene has to offer. This time around, the line up was pretty awesome - Furniture, Cosmic Funk Express, The Love Experiment (from Singapore), Ferns, Tempered Mental & Lied.

Came in a tad bit late and by that time Furniture, CFE & TLE had already taken to stage. The Ferns (fronted by Warren of Klue) were pretty decent, but Tempered Mental absolutely blew the crowd. With Melina on bass and vocals, I had to face constant torment from Chak about when I’m gonna start playing like that. How la….comparing me to a virtuoso!

Lied came on to close the show. This time around, Adlin was at his cathartic best. When he introduced the title track from their “Making Enemies” CD by saying “In life you are making friends, but you are also always making enemies” followed by the pounding bassline from Adam, you have a sense that this band certainly didn’t make any enemies with this crowd!

ANNOUNCEMENT: Superbar will also be playing at Jam Asia this Saturday nite (6th May). I’ll be posting further details as soon as possible.

(P.S - Sorry lah, no pix. But there are a couple of pictures here at Lied’s blog)
